The College Quarterly serves the professional development of college educators, and is foremost a vehicle for the expression of informed discussion and commentary on teaching and learning. CQ's intended audience includes administrators, faculty and staff at community and junior colleges and universities worldwide, and all others interested in post-secondary teaching and collegiate education.

Founded as a voice for college educators in Canada, in its fifth year of publication The College Quarterly has been transformed through distribution by website. Internet publication expands CQ's range and quantum of content and constituency, allows CQ to find needed revenues in accepting advertising from commercial sponsors, and extends CQ's reach to a global educational readership.

CQ's purposes are: (1) to serve the common interests and promote the professional recognition of the international community of college educators, and (2) to provide CQ's readership with a useful repository of valuable information and an outlet for scholarly publication.

To those ends, The College Quarterly offers articles and reviews which examine and interpret the philosophies, programs, policies and practices shaping the diverse experience of college education and educators. CQ also presents news of developments in institutional governance, novel pedagogical techniques, and emerging educational technology. Readers of CQ will find that even narrow consideration of these matters quickly transcends the immediate and parochial, and speaks to issues of lasting relevance to educators everywhere.

CQ is designed to share viewpoints on theory and practice, to identify and address concerns common to those working in and studying college education, and to foster institutional and international co-operation in meeting the critical challenges of a new, exciting and uncertain age. We invite your criticism, welcome your suggestions, and ask your support.
